(YahooNews) April 17, 2008 --Doctor Geo Rappert , a New Jersey dermatologist suggested other treatments for removing moles, including freezing the mole, and cutting it off with a scalpel, or newer natural mole removal treatments which cause the mole to dry up and fall off in a few days. He did have a warning for those considering mole removal: "If you notice a mole, or skin tag change color, see your doctor immediately." While "the majority of moles and other blemishes are benign, there are spots or blemishes that do warrant medical concern." They are those moles or spots that act differently from other existing moles. This "includes any spot that changes in size, shape or color, or one that bleeds, itches, becomes painful," Rappert said.

Most procedures used to remove moles take only a short time and can be performed in multiple visits to a surgical treatment site, or Dermatologist's office; or at home, with a natural mole remover. "If you choose laser treatment, raised moles will require multiple treatments, and even then, there is still a chance the mole will recur after it is removed," said Rappert. "If a removed mole does begin to reappear, the patient should return to see their Dermatologist as soon as possible for another mole removal treatment."
