A doctor or nurse specialist can tell whether an abnormal-looking mole should be closely watched or should be removed and checked for melanoma cells. The purpose of routine skin exams is to identify and treat abnormal moles.
Diagnosed and removed early, this tumour has a very high cure rate. However, if diagnosed late, this tumour can become very aggressive and will behave similar to cancer of the Bowel, Breast or Lungs.
Treatment always involves wide surgical excision to minimize the likelihood of melanoma recurrence and can sometimes require hospital treatment to remove or biopsy lymph nodes. Always personally check your moles and if changes in size, shape or color , or if a new mole appears - have them checked.
Please do not use NoNevus™ Mole Remover on abnormal-looking moles. NoNevus™ is a cosmetic mole removal treatment to remove (non-cancerous) benign moles.
